The Little League Season is over - Congratulations to Wilson on coming in first place during the regular season. Playoffs are as follows:
First Round Wednesday June 11th - AJ's @ Wilson Plumbing Wilson d. AJ's - 2-0. Lead Series 1-0 Game 1 saw a great pitching duel between Micheal Brazzell and Anthony Paolello. Both pitched deep into the game and kept opposing batters on their heels. Wilson went ahead by 2 with a solo home run by 12 year old Matthew Beyer. It was Beyer's first home run in LIttle League and it couldn't have come at a better time. Brazzell and Mike Long combined to shut out AJ's combining on a 1 hitter.
Thursday June 12th - DeGrace Plumbing @ Lions Lions d. DeGrace 2-1. Lead Series 1-0 The first game of the second series saw another brilliant pitching duel - this time between Nick Martin and Anthony DeGrace. The Plumbers scored first with a Home Run by Ryan McKenna - his first of Little League. The Lions Jose Checo hit a 2 strike Line Drive to Left Center to score Nick Martin, and after advancing to third base he scored on a Sac fly to center hit by Matt Riley. Brady Marinho relieved starter Anthony DeGrace in the 5th and registered 3 quick outs to give the Plumbers a chance, but DeGrace was unable to push home another run as Jose Checo an Matt Riley combined to finish what Nick Martin started.
Friday June 13th - Game has been moved due to Jefferson School 5th Grade Dance. Sunday June 15th - Lions @ DeGrace Plumbing Lions d. DeGrace 9-4. Lions Advance to World Series The Lions got timely hitting from Nick Martin, Jose Checo, Matt Riley, and Matt Reyes to beat DeGrace in the second and final game of the series. Matt Riley and Jose Checo pitched to their defense all day and Riley helped himself snagging a line drive on the mound with the bases loaded and doubling off the runner at first to escape the jam. Lions will now move on to face another set of Plumbers in the World Series.
Sunday June 15th - AJ's @ Wilson Plumbing Wilson Plumbing d. AJ's 12-5. Wilson Advance to World Series Wilson defeated AJ's in the second game of the series to punch their ticket to the World Series. AJ's was without projected starter Kyle Costella and got a pair of valient pitching efforts from both Steven Tiago and John McLaughlin. Wilson proved to be too much in the end getting solid performances from Starter Mike Long, Matt Manley, Kevin Cerquiera, and Matt Brazzell. Wilson will now face Lions in the NA Little League World Series.
